This year we have had a successful year with only July being rained off. We found spaces for the 30 artists on our waiting list. Many artists have commented on how much they enjoy coming to Grange and meeting one another and the visitors. Over 1,000 visitors have come on each occasion, nearly 2,000 in June. We have already had bookings from over 50 artists for 2010 and these will take up over half of the available spaces. We are advertising for more artists in the ArtWork newspaper which gives news of Art events in the North of England and Scotland. Free copies of this newspaper are available in Tourist Information Centres. We continue to receive valuable support from the Morecambe Bay and Ulverston Arts Societies; ten artists from the Bolton Art Circle, and Geraldine& Alan Snape from Warrington. New artists are coming from Warrington and Sandbach. All artists and those interested in the arts are invited to come to our Annual General Meeting which is to be held at 7.30pm on Thursday 3 December in the Council Chamber, Victoria Hall, Main Street, Grange-over-Sands. This is immediately above the Tourist Information Centre, with access for all through the side entrance for the disabled. We would like two more to join us on the committee as some committee members have now completely retired. Committe membership will not be too onerous and there are plenty of other helpers at the events. We would be particularly grateful if someone could offer to be our secretary. The first committee meeting will be held immediately after the AGM to consider matters arising and the second in January / February will plan publicity for the season. The third in July will include looking at the fees for the 2011 season and the fourth in October / November will review the season. Please do help to make sure that Prom Art continues and grows as so many artists, residents and visitors enjoy these events. Looking forward to seeing you at the AGM. Cllr Robert Leach
