Town Council seeks views on the Tourist Information Centre

The Town Council has launched a survey of businesses and residents/visitors regarding the Tourist Information Centre (TIC) in Grange-over-Sands.

 

South Lakeland District Council (SLDC) provides the principle funding for the TIC, plus a £4,000 per annum contribution from the Town Council. In the recent past the service has been reduced on account of a funding shortage. The Town Council has been informed that SLDC intends to save a further £60,000 from its total TIC budget for 2009/10, and that the closure of the Grange TIC is one of the options being considered.

 The Town Council wishes to find out what other options may be possible for maintaining a viable TIC in Grange. Responding to the survey will help find a solution. Whatever your views, please complete a survey form as quickly as possible.
